Which counties are included in the NEW Economic Opportunity Study area?

The NEW Economic Opportunity Study covers the following 18 counties: Brown, Calumet, Door, Florence, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Marinette, Marquette, Menominee, Oconto, Outagamie, Shawano, Sheboygan, Waupaca, Waushara, and Winnebago.

Who are the partners for the NEW Economic Opportunity Study?

The major partners for the NEW Economic Opportunity Study are the Fox Valley and Bay Area Workforce Development Boards.  They are joined in support of the study by county economic development agencies, county UW-Extension services, East Central and Bay Lakes Regional Planning Commissions, private sector business, local chambers of commerce, the Northeast Wisconsin Regional Economic Partnership, and other area economic development groups.  This consortium is continually seeking to bring new partners to the table.  See the NEW Economy Links page for websites of these organizations.

Who did the consulting for the NEW Economic Opportunity Study?

Consulting services for Phase I are provided by East Central Regional Planning Commission.  Consulting services for Phase II are provided by UW-Extension.  Consulting services for Phase III are provided by NorthStar Economics, Inc.  For an explanation of the phases, see the Project Overview.

How can I be involved with implementation of the study's recommendations?

The partners of the NEW Economic Opportunity Study are always seeking additional partners for the implementation process.  Implementation efforts will begin this fall.  E-mail David Scott if you are interested in being a part of this process.  Include your name, organization, location, area of interest, and how you are interested in helping.
